It's official

With the kick off of the 116th United States Congress, the start of a new term hasn't lost any of its excitement. I was once again thrilled to take the oath to represent Oregon's fourth congressional district. I'm especially honored to begin my service as the chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

The T&I committee will play a crucial role as Congress turns our attention to combating the global climate crisis.

There's no time to waste. We've got to take on global climate change. No hesitations, no excuses, no half measures.

Going green isn't just a matter of solar panels and fuel standards. As we finally* rebuild America's infrastructure, we'll have the chance to create the blueprint for our green energy future. By updating essential systems like the power grid and public transportation, we can drive innovation and boost the economy at the same time.

The T&I committee has a unique position to influence the climate change battle, and I intend to make the most of it. I can't wait to get to work.

P.S. Continue the conversation on how we can battle climate change on Facebook.
