Thrilled by the #WomensWave

This weekend marks the third anniversary of the Women's March, a movement that rose up to oppose the election of Donald Trump and to unify the voices of women and allies across the country. I am honored to help raise the voices of women at the march here in Eugene, Oregon by donating the sound system so all attendees are able to hear their significant words.

I am thrilled by the #WomensWave that hit Congress and was pleased to support many women who were newly elected to office in 2018. We've made great strides but it's clear that we have a lot of work yet to do. Everyone in this country is being impacted by the harmful government shutdown, women included. In the course of this shutdown, the critical Violence Against Women Act expired, preventing funding for new programs that aid survivors of sexual assault, violence, and stalking. Daily under this administration, we are reminded of the threats against women, against the people, and against our Democracy. This weekend, no matter where you are, find an opportunity to raise your voice, express your solidarity, and fight back! #WomensMarch2019
