Let me be clear: you need to stay home to save lives. I commend Governor Brown for issuing an executive order to keep Oregonians at home. This is a pandemic; a public health crisis!
Please act responsibly and think about who your actions impact: people who cannot protect themselves and those working to save lives and keep our economy going. We all need to sacrifice to flatten the curve. If you can work from home, do it. If you need to go to the grocery store, pharmacy, or doctor's office - plan it all in a single trip. If you're going out, reach out to your neighbors and offer to pick up items for them. Support your community around you in every way that you can.
It may not be easy, but it is the right thing to do. Each small individual act has a collective impact on our entire world and will help stop the spread of COVID19. Your small act will help save medical resources for those in need. Your small act will support the heroes who are working on the front lines: healthcare workers, first responders, and grocery store employees. Your small act is patriotic and a service to community and country.
Stay safe, be kind,
Peter
