Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you for your steadfast support and trust to represent our shared values in Washington. It means everything to me.

I pledge to continue to fight for issues that matter the most to Oregon families and to help our country move through and recover from the COVID-19 crisis.

As chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I will keep advancing my 21st century transportation plan to rebuild our infrastructure and our economy. That plan – some call it the "Green New Deal 2.0" – will creating millions of high-earning family-wage jobs and transition our country away from fossil fuels.

First things first, though: I never take an election for granted, and I don't intend to this year, either. Last night, Alek Skarlatos, Trump's hand-picked candidate, won the Republican nomination to run against me.

Skarlatos has been propped up by the same out-of-state special interests who have been funding attacks against me since last February. With the primary over, they will flood Oregon's Fourth Congressional District with super PAC dark money in the fall election.

It's going to be a heck of a fight, but we'll win the same we always do: by building a dedicated grassroots movement of working families who believe in democracy by and for the people, not special interests.

Once more: thank you for being part of this movement, and for your support. I'm proud to fight by your side.

Peter DeFazio's common-sense proposals aim to create good-paying jobs, expand access to affordable health care and develop options outside of the for-profit marketplace, restore economic and educational opportunities, hold government accountable and tip the scales of inequality back in favor of hard-working Oregonians.
