Eugene, Oregon — Following last night's deadline to file with the FEC for the third quarter, Alek Skarlatos’ campaign reported being fueled by over 84% out of state contributions and propped up by dark money. (Please find the full FEC report at this link.)

“Skarlatos and his campaign are welcoming with open arms a staggering amount of dark money and out of state contributions, raising $2.4 million in this last quarter alone, which nearly doubles our $1.3 million raised. By accepting over $75 thousand from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) alone - not to mention Devin Nunes (R-CA), Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), dark money PACs, and the Trump Family - Skarlatos shows he has no qualms with courting money from DC Republicans and thousands of dollars from extremist groups like Oregon Right to Life. GOP elites are trying to buy this race by outbidding Oregonians, and they think they have a shot with Skarlatos. We are running a grassroots race, so we can’t outraise him. But we can outwork him. At the end of the day, Oregonians deserve a say in their politics and won’t be fooled by Skarlatos and the GOP’s flagrant attempt to buy this seat and silence our community,” said Carly Gabrielson, Congressman Peter DeFazio’s Campaign Manager.
