Eugene, Oregon— On Thursday, October 29 at 12:00 PM PT, Congressman Peter A. DeFazio (D-OR) will host a virtual roundtable to discuss the importance of protecting access to affordable, quality health care. Congressman DeFazio will be joined by several Fourth District residents who will share their experiences of living with pre-existing conditions, depending on Medicare Part D and the Oregon Health Plan, and discuss the difficulties they faced prior to receiving coverage under the Affordable Care Act. The lawsuit to strip the ACA will come before the Supreme Court on November 10. If the ACA is repealed, more than 72,000 individuals in the Fourth District would lose their health care and more than 317,000 with pre-existing conditions would be at risk of losing coverage. While Republican Alek Skarlatos is on the record calling for a repeal of the ACA, Congressman DeFazio has fought to expand coverage and lower the cost of prescription drugs, and ensure more Oregonians have access to affordable health care.
